Valentine's Buffet and Live Cooking Demo

On February 9th former president and founder of GFL Jan Falwell showed us how to use one pour-able gluten-free dough to make everything from hamburger buns to chips! As we watched we enjoyed delicious homemade lasagna and Valentine's Day treats. Door prizes included Heavenly Ham and Taste of India!

Super Bowl Warm-Up

What’s your favorite gluten free restaurant? How can you be sure you’re getting a safe meal when dining out? That was the topic of our open mike session at GFL’s January 12th public meeting. Donato’s provided the FREE pizza, and GFL provided the Super Bowl Warm Up snacks!

Missed the meeting? Not to worry. We do it every month! In the meantime, you can get caught up by reading our Restaurant Page, or by diving in to the conversations that take place every day – all day – in our Facebook Group.

Holiday Dinner

On November 10th, 2013 GFL continued its new series of monthly public support meetings with a pre-holiday fundraiser banquet, "Holiday Dinner Reloaded." The banquet meeting began at 6:30 pm, at the Tates Creek Ballroom, 1400 Gainesway Drive. There was tasty gluten free food and informative games with door prizes!

GF Fall Kickoff

On October 14, 2013 we packed Lexington's Bell House to near capacity for the official launch of regular monthly public meetings offering resources, information, and support to those on the gluten free diet.  And we kicked it off in style! Emmy-nominated WKYT-TV evening news anchor Amber Philpott was announced as our official spokesperson. Tables full of gluten free food were provided by GFL volunteers, as well as sponsoring vendors such as Puccini's Pizza and Katz Gluten Free Bakery.

We also unveiled our plans for South Eastern Gluten Free Expo 2014, Lexington’s first-ever national scale gluten free vendor fair, to be held at Heritage Hall in the Lexington Convention Center in October 2014.  There were plenty of fun door prizes from sponsors including Whole Foods Market, Johnny Carino's Italian Restaurant, Bourbon & Toulouse Caijun Restaurant, Outback Steakhouse, and Chipotle's Mexican Grill.

Food Fair and Fundraiser

On May 25, 2013, Whole Foods Market in Lexington Green hosted the annual Gluten Free Food Fair to raise funds for Gluten Free Lexington. It was our best year ever. We made more new friends and contacts, reached more people, raised more funds, and sold more memberships than ever before. Vendors on-site included Smashing Tomato Pizza, Bella Notte Restaurant, and Fro Jo's Frozen Yogurt.
